Common questions
Straight answers to what owners most often ask when they're thinking about a sale.
From first conversation to completion, most transactions complete within 12 to 16 weeks, and we target a close of around 90 days. We won't drag things out — once terms are agreed, we move quickly. The exact timeline depends on the complexity of the business and how quickly diligence can be completed.
Nothing. We charge no fees of any kind. Unlike a broker who takes a percentage of the sale price, I deal with you directly. The price we agree is the price you receive, with no deductions on your side.
Generally yes — I focus on established, profitable businesses. That said, I look at each business on its merits, and one with strong revenue and a clear path to profit is worth a conversation. What matters most is a genuine customer base and a capable team.
I typically look at businesses with revenue between £2M and £6M and healthy margins, though I'll consider outside that range for the right fit. If you're unsure whether your business qualifies, just ask — I'll give you an honest answer.
Not unless you want them to. Confidentiality is central to how we work. We sign a mutual NDA before any meaningful discussion, and we manage the process carefully so your team, customers and suppliers aren't aware until you decide the time is right.
Technology and service businesses — IT and managed services, SaaS, eCommerce, B2B tech-enabled services, online, professional, home services, and healthcare services. These are areas where my operating background adds real value. If you're in an adjacent sector with solid fundamentals, still get in touch.
No. We're open to a range of structures. Some owners want a clean exit; others want to sell a majority stake and stay involved, or sell partially now with an earn-out tied to future performance. We'll find the structure that fits your situation.
I am — Ismail Berkan, the founder and principal. You'll deal with me directly in every conversation. Behind the transaction sits an experienced advisory team: an M&A solicitor, a due-diligence accountant, a business advisor with investing/operating experience, and a commercial finance broker, so the process is properly advised and funding is arranged before we make an offer.
Protecting your people is a commitment I take seriously. I'm an operator, not an asset-stripper — I acquire businesses to run and grow them. In most cases the existing team is the core of what makes the business valuable, and I want to keep it.
That's completely fine. Many owners I speak to are exploring their options rather than committed to a sale. There's no pressure and no obligation — a conversation costs nothing, and I'm happy to talk through what an exit might look like whenever you're ready.
We base offers on real financial performance and comparable evidence, and I'll always explain how we arrived at a figure. You're free — and encouraged — to take independent advice. My goal is a deal both sides feel is fair, because that's the only kind that leads to a good outcome.
I'm happy to answer anything not covered here — no obligation, no pressure.
